Maya Jovanovic
U17 ACE OKOTOKS (HEAD COACH)
Maya was a setter with the Central Alberta Queens Volleyball Club from U14 to U18 and rostered with the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens for a season. This is her second year coaching, with her previous year being with U14 CAQVC. As a new coach to ACE, Maya believes in bringing in an attitude of discipline for high-level athletes, especially in U17/18, as it applies to aspects of life beyond the game. She is beyond excited to coach an older age group since she is able to apply her skill and gameplay knowledge at a higher level, and hopes to instill a continuous desire to learn in her athletes.
With emphasis on the importance of respect and positivity, Maya endeavours to create a team atmosphere that incorporates both sides of competitive sport to encourage athletes’ goals, strive for excellence, and genuine enjoyment of the game.
