Gaylene Myotte

U17 ACE- DONEN (ASSISTANT COACH)

Gaylene Amyotte has been connected to volleyball since middle school, and the sport has remained a defining part of her life. She competed in volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout high school, contributing in multiple volleyball positions, including outside hitter and right side. After moving on to NAIT, she transitioned to middle, a challenge that shaped her development as both a leader and competitor. She ultimately served as team captain.

Gaylene continues to be a competitive adult athlete and a proud coach in Okotoks. She spent last season as the assistant coach for the Foothills Composite High School JV Girls Volleyball team, and this year serves as co‑head coach. She also worked as the U16 assistant coach under Kyle Donen in the 2025–2026 club season, gaining valuable experience within a high‑performance youth environment. Across all levels, she is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.

Gaylene has been married to her husband Gabe for nearly 24 years; he is also a lifelong athlete and high‑level hockey coach. They have two grown sons who competed at elite levels in hockey and baseball, with one currently playing hockey in BC.

Sport has always been central to who Gaylene is — it’s the environment where she thrives, leads, and continues to grow as both an athlete and a coach.
