JD Gibbs

Born and raised in Edmonton. I bring roughly 8 years of coaching experience and am currently in my second year coaching with Ace Leduc. Volleyball has given me the opportunity to do something I truly enjoy helping athletes grow, build confidence, and become stronger both on and off the court.

As a coach, I believe in hard work, accountability, teamwork, and keeping practices positive (with a few laughs mixed in). You’ll usually find me encouraging players, cheering loudly, reminding everyone to communicate, and saying things like “move your feet!” more times than anyone can count. I’m also a firm believer that sometimes the best learning moments come from mistakes and that every team needs energy, confidence, and a little humor to succeed.

Coaching is more than wins and losses for me. It’s about helping athletes develop skills, believe in themselves, support one another, and enjoy the game. Whether it’s a tough practice, a big tournament, or celebrating those small moments of progress, I’m proud to be part of helping players grow and reach their potential.
