Growing up Riley was a multi-sport athlete who played every sport offered at school. This led to her trying various sports, but eventually, sticking with soccer and volleyball. Riley started as a competitive soccer player but discovered a passion for volleyball, leading her to make the switch from club soccer to club volleyball. In high school, Riley continued to participate in both soccer and volleyball. She won championship banners in both grades 10 and 12 years of school for volleyball. Also winning a soccer banner in grade 10 and led her soccer team as the captain in Division 1/2, which was a first for the school.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Riley started coaching as a junior coach in soccer, helping younger kids develop their skills and instill in them a love for the sport. Riley is currently in school for a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, gaining an understanding in body movement and different areas of sport. Riley is excited to further her volleyball career, share her passion for the sport, and apply what she is learning through coaching.
