Nick Davies

U18 Ace Of Spades EP
(Assistant Coach)

Nick grew up in Calgary, developing a love for the game through a dynasty at Beaverbrook HS that won 3 straight city championships. He went on to play at Lethbridge College and SAIT, where he went from being cut in his sophomore year, to winning an ACAC championship in 2010, to graduating as team captain and finalist for Male Athlete of the Year two years later. His coaching career began in his senior year of high school and he was fortunate to have a handful of legends of the sport as mentors who shaped his perspective and philosophy. Nick burst on to the club scene, leading teams to over 30 Volleyball Alberta Division 1 medals during his first 8 years coaching.

Now a seasoned coach, Nick has worked with thousands of youth athletes (camps, teams and 1:1) over the last 16 years. He has worked with 200+ athletes on their path to post secondary, provincial and national/professional teams. In addition to club experience, Nick has coached for 8 years at post secondary institutions across Alberta (SAIT, Olds, Keyano) winning a handful of provincial and national medals. His younger brother Jeremy is the all-time digs leader at Brandon University and played with the Senior men's national team for 5 years.

Nick's diverse background in the sport made him an expert at developing technical skill and ball control foundations while nurturing healthy competitive spirit in youth. All of those traits serve athletes for the rest of their playing careers and provide strategies to help prepare them for life off the court.

While titles & results are what often catches attention, Nick believes this is an outcome of the character building through goal-setting and consistent disciplined training over time. Nick and Santi (17U) have worked together for over a decade and they share a similar philosophy of fostering a positive team culture to allow athletes to be their 100% authentic self while working towards reaching their full potential.
