Growing up, Mikaelyn bounced through a lot of different sports and hobbies before she discovered volleyball. It wasn’t until she was 14 years old where she decided that she wanted to stick with the sport for as long as possible. After years of playing club for a few different teams, Mikaelyn was officially scouted in her grade 11 year which kick-started the next step. She played in the NCAA, Division 1, and U-Sports, CanWest, leagues throughout her time in university. During Mikaelyn’s career, she has earned a U17 National Championship Gold Medal, U18 National Championship Silver Medal, NCAA Big Sky and U-Sports CanWest Second Team All-Stars, Defensive Player of the Week (blocking), CanWest 2nd Star of the Week, Big Sky Bronze Medal, and 2x CanWest Gold Medals. She finished her student-athlete career, at Trinity Western University, graduating as Team Captain with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours, in Psychology. Mikaelyn is extremely excited to further her volleyball career through coaching to help the next generation of athletes fulfill their dreams in volleyball.
